Harris, Trump still deadlocked in new polling of Pa. voters

A new poll released Thursday gives a glimpse at which candidates could have an advantage among Pennsylvania voters on election day.

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — With less than two weeks until election day, the finish line is in full view.

"This race- since Harris has entered- has entered this phase where not much is changing," said Berwood Yost, director of the Franklin & Marshall College Center for Opinion Research.

The race for the White House is still a dead heat.

Newly released polling data from Franklin & Marshall College shows Vice President Kamala Harris has a 48% to 44% lead over Former President Donald Trump among Pennsylvania’s registered voters, within the poll’s four-point margin of error.

When it comes to the issues, voters still feel the former president is better able to handle the economy and serve as commander-in-chief, though his advantage in those categories is slimmer than in months past.

"He has a lead among voters over who they think can best handle the economy," Yost said.

Harris has an advantage when it comes to questions of character and trustworthiness, leading by double digits in both categories according to the latest poll.

The issue of reproductive rights may be her strongest, with 51% of Pennsylvania’s registered voters siding with the vice president’s stance.

"There’s no doubt that people who are most concerned about abortion rights are voting for Harris," Yost said.

The race appears even tighter when considering only likely voters.

The poll shows Trump has just a one-point lead.

"This race has stayed where it’s been, close," Yost said. "It’s going to remain, I think, likely a very close race until the end."

U.S. Senator Bob Casey maintains his narrow lead over Republican Senate Nominee Dave McCormick in the new poll, with a 49% to 42% advantage.
