Sept. 10 debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump will be held in Philadelphia, ABC News reports

The debate will be held at Philadelphia's National Constitution Center at 9 p.m. on Sept. 10 and will be moderated by ABC anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis.

PHILADELPHIA — We now know the location of the first presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump.

The debate will be held at 9 p.m. on September 10 at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, according to ABC News and Phillyvoice.

It will be moderated by ABC "World News Tonight" anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis and broadcast on the ABC network, ABC News Live, Disney+ and Hulu.

The Sept. 10 date on ABC initially had been scheduled before President Joe Biden dropped out of the race. Trump had previously said he wouldn't agree to debate Harris on ABC News and suggested several other dates in September for a debate that would be broadcast on Fox News.

Trump is rejoining the ABC debate days after posting on his social media network that he would not appear on the network, citing a lawsuit he has filed, the Associated Press reports. His decision sets up a highly anticipated moment in an election where the first debate led to a massive change in the race — with Democratic President Joe Biden ending his reelection bid and endorsing Harris.

“I think it’s very important to have debates,” Trump said last week. “I look forward to the debates because I think we have to set the record straight.”

On the social media site X last Thursday, Harris wrote that “I hear that Donald Trump has fully committed to debating me on September 10. I look forward to it.”

At a private fundraiser in Paris last week, Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, said he “cannot wait” to see his wife debate Trump. He was in Paris as head of the U.S. delegation to the Summer Olympics closing ceremony.

Fox News has also proposed a debate between Harris and Trump to take place on Sept. 4, and NBC News is angling to air one on Sept. 25. During an appearance in Michigan, Harris said she was “happy to have that conversation” about an additional debate.

Vice presidential candidates JD Vance and Tim Walz are scheduled debate each other in New York on Oct. 1 in an event broadcast by CBS News in New York City. That debate will be moderated by Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan.
