Sen. John Fetterman and wife involved in Maryland car crash

Out of an abundance of caution, John and Gisele were evaluated at a local hospital, according to a spokesperson.

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — U.S. Senator John Fetterman and his wife, Gisele, were reportedly involved in a car crash on Sunday morning. 

According to Maryland State Police, shortly before 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 9, troopers with the Hagerstown Barrack responded to the area of westbound Interstate 70 at Interstate 68 for a report of a two-vehicle crash. 

According to a preliminary investigation, a Chevrolet Traverse driven by Fetterman was traveling west on I-70 when, for unknown reasons, it struck the back of another car. 

Out of an abundance of caution, John and Gisele were evaluated at a local hospital, according to a spokesperson. John was treated for an injured shoulder and both were discharged that same afternoon. 

According to Maryland State Police, the driver was also reportedly transported by ambulance for their injuries, which are unknown at this time. 

No citations were issued and the crash remains under investigation. 

A spokesperson with Fetterman said that the couple is doing well and happy to be back in Braddock.
