Pennsylvania State Police locate both escapees from Abraxas Academy in Berks County

According to police, both escapees were captured as of July 10. They reportedly left Abraxas Academy on July 6.

BERKS COUNTY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police have located two escapees from a Berks County youth treatment center. 

According to the Caernarvon Township Police Department, the two escapees were last seen at Abraxas Academy in New Morgan Borough on Saturday, July 6 around 4 p.m. 

Tyler Lutz, 18, from Reading, was taken into custody in Bucks County on Monday, July 8. The second suspect, Dustin Lomas, 16, from Bristol Township was taken into custody by Falls Township Police on Wednesday, July 10. He was reportedly caught in a stolen vehicle. 

According to Abraxas Academy's website, the treatment program provides specialized care for delinquent male youth between the ages of 14 and 18 in 9th grade or above. Treatment at the Academy is for youth who demonstrate a consistent display of delinquent patterns, those admitted reportedly either display habitual offending behaviors or have a history of sexual offending behavior.
