READING, Pa. — Reading Police are searching for a kidnapping suspect.
According to the Reading Police Department, on Nov. 16 at 3:30 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Windsor St. for a reported burglary. The caller told police someone had broken into their home and kidnapped their 26-year-old daughter.
The daughter escaped from her kidnapper, who was identified as Yusuf Scott, 27.
An arrest warrant has been obtained for Scott on kidnapping, burglary and related crimes.
Members of the Reading Police Department and BCERT attempted to execute search warrants at multiple locations within the City of Reading in an attempt to arrest Scott.
According to a press release by the Reading Police Department, Scott has not been taken into custody and his current whereabouts are unknown.
Scott is considered armed and dangerous and is described as a man with longer dreadlocks, stands 6'3", weighs approximately 175 pounds and was last seen wearing black pants, black shoes, a black jacket and a mask.
He reportedly displayed a gun during the incident.
