PENNSYLVANIA, USA — WPMT-FOX43's Evan Forrester is being recognized as a veteran journalist in the profession.
This year, Forrester is being inducted into the Mid-Atlantic Emmy's Silver Circle Society.
The group is described as an honor society for members who have spent 25+ years working in journalism and have made significant contributions to the industry.
Forrester graduated from Shippensburg University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.
He began his career with work at television stations in West Virginia, Florida, Missouri, and Allentown, Pennsylvania, before joining FOX43 News when the station debuted the program in 1994.
Over his career, Forrester has earned numerous journalism awards, including several Emmy awards and nominations. Shippensburg University’s Communications/Journalism Department also honored him with the Outstanding Alumnus Award for professional achievement.
He serves on a number of executive boards, including the Executive Board of the New Birth of Freedom Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Executive Board of America’s 9/11 Foundation, and the advisory board of both Shippensburg University’s College of Arts and Sciences and Communications/Journalism Department.
Currently, Forrester anchors FOX43's 4:00, 5:00, and 10:00 p.m. newscasts.
