Trio of kids from Hershey take playoff field trip to Camden Yards

The gifted tickets included a chance to be on the field before the game.

BALTIMORE — Call it a "playoff field trip" for Jonah Brannen, Austin Lamparter and Bo Williams.

The trio of young baseball fans from Hershey spent Tuesday afternoon at Camden Yards soaking up the playoff atmosphere for their favorite team, the Orioles.

Sean Brannen said the tickets for Game 1 of the American League Wildcard playoff game against Kansas City were gifted to them by his sister-in-law. He gave Jonah the good news and told him he could bring a couple of friends with him.

“For me, I just wanted to ask them to come and I was really excited about it," smiled Jonah. "I really want an autograph from Gunnar Henderson because he’s my favorite player, like ever.”

For Austin, Tuesday's game between the Orioles and Royals was the first major league game he's ever seen in person.

“You know, get the feel of coming to the playoffs for the first time, a baseball game in general, I was just really hyped," he said.

As for Bo, he didn't hesitate at the opportunity to check out some playoff baseball.

“He called me and invited me, I was really excited to know that we would be going on to the field too," he added.

The Orioles dropped a close 1-0 decision to Kansas City in Game 1 and need to win on Wednesday to force a deciding Game 3 on Thursday at Camden Yards.
