Droege family has deep and successful history for Columbia basketball

The family has three of the most prolific scorers of all time, led by their mother, Marjorie, who is Lanc-Leb's all-time leading scorer.

COLUMBIA, Pa. — The Droege name is royalty amongst Pennsylvania high school basketball. The most prolific scorer in Lanc-Leb history belongs to mom Marjorie and her twin daughters Brie and Brooke have had quite a career of their own.

"There is a lot of blood, sweat and tears between the three of us," said Marjorie. "To go through that myself as a teenager and now to watch my daughters go through it it’s very special."

Both Brie and Brooke credit their mom with what they have accomplished. Brie recently joined her mother in the 2K points club, an honor that only eight players have ever done, and Brooke is not far behind closing in on 1,500 points. Both credit their mother for leading the way.

"Just with my skills, she has taught me everything I have known," said Brie. "So I think she's been a big part of the player I am today and  it's special to be on that 2K banner with her."

Brooke echoed her twin sister's sentiments

"Having her as someone to look up to, it’s just been a really big help," said Brooke, "She really does care. She's at every single game, her presence is just really nice to have."

One common theme between the family is the teammates they have all had over the years to make this possible. The legacy they have left is one that not many basketball families in the country can rival.

"I'm just hoping they keep putting the effort in to continue to grow with their team and players," said Marjorie. "They  work so hard and it's really special to accomplish these accolades for all of us."

Brie and Brooke have another chapter together before graduation. Both will suit up for East Stroudsburg University next year.
