Penn State takes center stage on day two of Big Ten Media Day

Penn State players and Coach Franklin address the media while staying loose and having fun in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — Day two of Big Ten Media days saw the Penn State Nittany Lions take center stage.

Head Coach James Franklin took to the podium and gave his opening remarks on the team while fielding multiple questions from the media. One of the biggest questions was how PSU reaches the elite level.

"We are one of the only places where a 10 or 11-win season isn't good enough," said Franklin. "I'm excited for what we added this offseason with our brand new coordinators."

Penn State brought along three seniors, Tyler Warren, Jaylen Reed and Dvon J-Thomas. Each provided insight into how they hope this season unfolds.

"I feel like as a defense, as an offense, when it comes to special teams, our biggest focus is being consistent in who we are," said J-Thomas. "We have a standard we want to keep and be tough to play each game."

Media days aren't just about answering the tough questions, it's also a chance to have some fun, like figuring who would be the best dressed.

"Jalen is dressed very clean cut and trim always, you know what I mean," said J-Thomas. "But, me, for sure, the Prada... I feel like I put it on the best."

"I take pride in my fashion because I feel like it shows my personality," said Reed. "We don't get to dress up often so I took advantage to see how creative I can get and I take pride in it."

With camp on the horizon, Penn State now shifts to Week 1 against West Virginia, which kicks off in just 38 days.
