STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Former Central York High School standout Beau Pribula has announced that he will transfer from Penn State and enter the college football transfer portal to find a new team.
The Nittany Lions are set to host SMU in the first round of the College Football Playoffs on Saturday at Beaver Stadium.
It is not immediately clear whether Pribula will be available for the game against the Mustangs. Here is a portion of his statement which he released on his X (Twitter) account @beauprib:
“The current postseason NCAA model creates a challenge for student-athletes,” Pribula wrote. “The overlapping CFB playoff & transfer portal timeline has forced me into an impossible decision. After speaking at length with my family and coaches, it is with a heavy heart that I announce my intentions to enter the transfer portal and depart from the team to explore opportunities elsewhere.”
Pribula has spent three seasons with the Nittany Lions. As a Pennsylvania kid, he said it was his dream to play football for Penn State. He added that wearing the Blue and White has provided some of the greatest moments of his life.
