COLUMBUS, Ohio — The stage is set for a Big Ten battle with National Championship implications.
Penn State will battle Ohio State in the "Big Noon Kick" on Saturday in Columbus at the Horseshoe.
Nittany Lions fans have waited a while for a win against the Buckeyes. After close calls in 2017, 2018 2021 and 2022, the Blue and White feel this is the year to grab a win.
Penn State's last win versus Ohio State came in a thrilling upset at Beaver Stadium in 2016. Head coach James Franklin is just 1-8 against the Buckeyes in his tenure in Happy Valley.
The last win for the Nittany Lions in Columbus came back in 2011 with Tom Bradley at the helm.
Penn State also defeated Ohio State in 2008 in a prime-time clash. That squad went on to win the Big Ten title and was led by quarterback Darryl Clark, a Youngstown, Ohio native. Clark spoke with FOX43 about his advice to Allar and his excitement for this Nittany Lions squad.
"You're well prepared, you have weapons, you're a weapon yourself, the stage is set, go and have fun, go and be Drew, Nittany Nation is here in Columbus," said Clark.
"I will be there, we got your back, let it fly, let it fly, let it fly, just relax and have fun. I have very, very much optimism about this game, I haven't been this excited in quite some time."
As for the fans, confidence is high as they have begun the westward flow from their home base in Pennsylvania.
Pregame coverage begins at 10:00 a.m. on FOX43.
