Beau Pribula has been consistent with his message the moment he graduated early from Central York High School and joined Penn State’s football team.

“I always stay ready.”

That’s been his standard answer whenever asked about the possibility of subbing for starting quarterback Drew Allar.

On Saturday night in front of a wild and boisterous crowd at Camp Randall Stadium against Wisconsin, Pribula proved he was ready and guided the Nittany Lions to an important road victory over the Badgers 28-13.

“I’m always ready to go,” he explained. “Whether that’s for two quarterback stuff or to take over when Drew gets hurt, I was always ready. We weren’t sure at halftime if Drew was going to come back or not, but right when the half started I got the word, locked in from there and tried to keep the offense flowing.”

The victory keeps #3 Penn State undefeated heading into this Saturday’s massive showdown with #4 Ohio State. The game with the Buckeyes is a Big Noon Kickoff on FOX43.

Allar injured his knee on the final offensive series of the first half and was not able to return to action after the break. Pribula got word he was going to handle the offense and after a few less-than-promising possessions, he led them on a pair of touchdown drives to extend Penn State’s lead.

The Nittany Lions trailed heading into the second half 10-7 but went back in front for good on an interception return for a TD by Jaylen Reed.

Pribula connected with Khalil Dinkins on a 1-yard score early in the 4th quarter to stretch the advantage to 21-13. Kaytron Allen capped things off with a 24-yard touchdown run.

Pribula finished with 11 completions in 13 attempts for 98 yards and one TD pass. He also carried the ball six times for 28 yards.
