COLUMBUS, Ohio — Penn State brought a championship-level defense to Columbus for their showdown with Ohio State. The problem is the Buckeyes are pretty good on that side of the ball as well. The Nittany Lions were getting used to scoring at least 30 points per game and came into this contest with the largest point differential in the country six games into the season.
QB Drew Allar and his offensive teammates didn't just struggle to score a touchdown, they couldn't move the chains on 3rd down, finishing the game only 1 of 16 on 3rd down conversions.
They did muster one late score with less than a minute remaining when Allar rolled right and hit Kaden Saunders for the team's only TD. A failed two-point try made the final 20-12.
Penn State is now 2-13 at Ohio Stadium since joining the Big Ten in 1993 with their last win in the Horseshow coming way back in 2011. The Nittany Lions fall to 6-1 on the season and are back in Beaver Stadium next weekend to host Indiana. Ohio State improves to 7-0 and faces Wisconsin next.
