Penn State offense struggles in 24-15 loss to Michigan

The Nittany Lions only managed 70 yards passing against Wolverines.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Penn State started the second half with the football and well within striking range of Michigan, down 14-9 at the time. The Nittany Lions' offense never got untracked until it was too late and ended up falling at home to the number three-ranked team in the country, 24-15.

The Wolverines only threw the ball eight times for the entire game and during a critical juncture of the second half ran it 27 consecutive times. The 27th straight run was a backbreaking TD run by Blake Corum that put the game out of reach 24-9.

The 2023 Penn State football team may very well finish 10-2 once the regular season ends.   Fair or unfair, this Nittany Lions group will be remembered for not being able to knock off one of their big rivals, Ohio State or Michigan.

Their defense is, without a doubt, one of the best in the country. Unfortunately, the offense couldn't solve the Buckeyes or Wolverines' defenses to keep up in the two biggest games of the season. PSU lost to Ohio State 20-12 in Columbus.

Penn State will host Rutgers for Senior Day on November 18 and finish the regular season in Detroit against Michigan State on Friday, November 24.
