WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — The Hershey Bears franchise has seen a lot of firsts during its 85 years of existence.
The Bears have never had a team win 16 of their first 20 games to start a season... until now. The Bears rallied from a 3-1 deficit to stun the Wilkes-Barre Penguins on the road Wednesday night, 7-5.
Hershey ripped off four straight goals in the second period to take a lead they would never relinquish. It was a wild back-and-forth game that ended up with the 2022-23 American Hockey League champs stacking up another two points in the standings.
Joe Snively scored two goals for Hershey with five other players having one each.
The Bears have now won seven straight games and continue their road trip with back-to-back games in Charlotte on Friday and Saturday.
