PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Three days, three games and three wins.
The Hershey Bears grabbed all six points available in a weekend sweep over Providence and Springfield.
Hershey fell behind early Sunday afternoon on an odd call. The Bears believed there was a false faceoff, but the Bruins' Vinni Lettieri put the puck past Hunter Shepard.
Hershey protested the call, but after conferencing, the officials determined it was a good goal.
The Bears persisted and finally broke through on Providence goaltender Brandon Bussi at the 14:28 mark of the second period.
Ivan Miroshnichenko tied it, with assists from Henrik Rybinski and Bogdan Trineyev.
Then, just twenty seconds into the third period, the Ethen to Ethan connection put the Bears in front.
Ethen Frank got a bounce off the referee and put the puck in the net. Ethan Bear had the assist.
The Bruins pressed late with the goaltender pulled, but the Bears hung on for the 2-1 win.
They are back in action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at Giant Center.
The next FOX43 broadcast will be on Tuesday, Nov. 12 against Bridgeport at 10:30 a.m. on FOX43.
