HERSHEY, Pa. — The Cleveland Monsters will not go away, taking down the Hershey Bears, 3-2 in overtime, Monday.
Game 7 on Wednesday will decide who faces Coachella Valley in the Calder Cup Finals.
Owen Sillinger opened the scoring for Cleveland in the first period with a power play goal.
Hershey's Henrik Rybinski tied it in the second period.
With 50 seconds left in third period, Joe Snively gave the Bears a 2-1 lead and it appeared they were on their way to the Finals.
Just 17 seconds later, Brendan Gaunce's shot appeared to deflect off of Hardy Haman Aktell's skate and past Hunter Shepard to tie the game.
Jake Christiansen, who played his first game since being hurt on May 3 against Belleville, got the game winner with just under 2:30 left in overtime.
After the game, Mike Vecchione said, "it's obviously a devastating [loss], but you have to move forward to game 7."
Game 7 is Wednesday night at 7pm in Hershey.
You can watch the game on FOX43.2 Antenna TV and Monumental Sports Network.
