Hershey Bears win back-to-back Calder Cup championships

The Hershey Bears won a rematch of last year's finals in six games, securing the 13th Calder Cup in franchise history.

The Hershey Bears have won back-to-back Calder Cup championships and the 13th title in franchise history, after defeating the Coachella Valley Firebirds by a score of 5-4 in overtime of Game 6 of the 2024 Calder Cup Finals.

Trailing 1-0 and 2-1 at various points in the best-of-seven series, Hershey won two of three games in Palm Desert last week to take a 3-2 series lead and set up a Game 6 victory on Monday night.

Pierrick Dubé recorded a hat trick and Matt Strome scored 66 seconds into overtime to lift the Bears to a 5-4 victory over the Firebirds in front of a franchise-record crowd of 11,013 at GIANT Center.

Hendrix Lapierre was awarded the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as the most valuable player of the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs after leading the postseason in scoring with 22 points.

Hershey’s 2024 Calder Cup celebration will be held at GIANT Center on Wednesday, June 26, at 6 p.m. Doors to the building will open at 5 p.m. Additional information about the festivities will be circulated later this week.
