HERSHEY, Pa. — The 2023-24 Hershey Bears continue a historic run through the American Hockey League's regular season.
Tuesday's 1-0 victory over Lehigh Valley secured the Atlantic Division title and earned the Bears the top seed in the Eastern Conference for the upcoming Calder Cup playoffs.
The Bears have 101 team points and still have seven games left.
Pierrick Dube scored the lone goal of the game in the first period. That's all goalie Hunter Shepard needed as he kicked aside all 19 Phantoms shots to post his fifth shutout of the season.
Dube now has 27 goals this year and the team has won all 23 games in which he has scored a goal.
Hershey is currently 12 points ahead of Coachella Valley for the overall top seed in the AHL. Coachella Valley has nine games left in their regular season.
The Bears' next two games are in Iowa for a road trip against the Wild. Once they return, four of their last five contests are in GIANT Center.
