The Hershey Bears bounced back from a lackluster performance in Game 3 with an all-out effort from everyone in the lineup to score a Game 4 victory in Allentown and eliminate the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 5-3.
The Bears win the Atlantic Division Semifinal series 3-1 and now advance to face Hartford in the next round. They swept the Wolf Pack for the division last year in their run to the Calder Cup title.
Ivan Miroshnichenko led the way with two goals in the close out game for Hershey. Pierrick Dube, Ethen Frank and Hardy Haman Aktell all scored one apiece. The game was tied at 2-2 after a wild first period. The Bears then took control in the second period and never relinquished the lead after tallies from Miroshnichenko and Frank.
Shots finished 32-27 in favor of the Phantoms. Shepard went 29-for-32 for his third win of the postseason; Petersen went 22-for-27 in the loss for Lehigh Valley. The Bears went 1-for-4 on the power play; the Phantoms went 0-for-2 with the man advantage.
