HARTFORD, Connecticut — The Hershey Bears can't win back-to-back Calder Cups without first capturing the Atlantic Division title again. Wednesday Night's 4-1 victory over the Wolf Pack in Hartford completed a sweep and earned the Bears their second consecutive division crown.
"The only way to get to where we want to go is through series by series," said Bears Center Garrett Roe. "We got the first one done, we got the second one done, it’s nice to get a couple of days to rest and get our energy and then it’s go time again.”
Roe earned first star honors for his versatile performance. Down 1-zip in the second period, Roe scored on a clean redirect into the net off a pass from Hardy Haman Aktell at the blue line. He added another later in the period to give the Bears a lead they would never relinquish.
Hershey adds two more to cap the scoring and finish off Hartford. The Bears now advance to face the Cleveland Monsters in the Eastern Conference Finals. Both teams swept their opponents in the division finals so it's going to be a little while before they play. Game 1 is scheduled for Thursday, May 30th at Giant Center.
