INDIANAPOLIS — The new EA Sports College Football '25 video game is taking the nation by storm.
That includes Big Ten football players and coaches who have already seen the effects the game has had on the players, and they couldn’t be happier to be a part of it.
“I grew up playing that game and was dying for it to come back,” said Ohio State senior defensive end Jack Sawyer. "It’s surreal to be a part of the game its first year back. It’s super cool to be able to play with the Buckeyes and myself.”
Sawyer wasn’t the only one excited about the game's return. His teammate- Emeka Ebuka- also chimed in on the popular game.
“It’s a great game,” said Ebuka. “EA did an amazing job and it's just so much fun to play. I even tell [my teammates that if] they aren’t doing well they will get subbed out.”
Ohio State is currently ranked as the number two team in the game. Players were awarded a $600 payment and a free copy for those who opted to be a part of the videogame.
Its quick popularity has also stuck with Purdue coach Ryan Walters.
“It’s cool for them to be able to enjoy that aspect of the game and be able to play with themselves,” said Walters. “I have to remind them at times that it’s not real you didn’t really throw six touchdowns but it is fun to partake.”
According to EA Sports, over two million copies of the game have already been sold.
