Northeastern girl's basketball team off to a historic start

The Bobcats under second-year coach Moe Coleman have the girls rolling at 16-1.

MANCHESTER, Pa. — The Northeastern girl's basketball team is senior-heavy and off to a great start this season.

They are 16-1 on the year with their only loss coming a few days ago against York Suburban. The team has all the necessary pieces to win and is gelling well.

"I think it's good we are working together and we are actually playing team basketball," said Junior guard Nylah Davis. "We learned a lot from last year towards the end and we picked up from that and we are on a roll."

This is the second season under coach Moe Coleman. They are a tight nit group that's taken a no-nonsense approach

"They enjoy being around each other and they enjoy coming to practice and putting the work in," said Coach Coleman. "So as long as we have a good week of practice we hope that our game turns into that."

The goal is to add another YAIAA title to the banner, and that comes with leadership.

"We're heavy in the leadership positions, especially for the seniors," said Coleman. "So it’s a good thing seniors are doing what they are supposed to do they are leading by example."
