ALTOONA, Pa. — For three area high school teams, it's still football season.
Lampeter-Strasburg, Bishop McDevitt, and Harrisburg have all made it to the PIAA State Semifinals.
The road to the state championship game will run through Altoona for all of them.
In the Class 4A state semis, Lampeter-Strasburg will take on Thomas Jefferson on Friday, November 29th at 1 p.m. at Mansion Park Stadium. The Pioneers were able to beat Wyomissing in overtime, 30-27. Thomas Jefferson shutout Clearfield, 35-0, in the state quarterfinals. The winner between the Pioneers and Jaguars will take on the victor of Bonner Prendergast and Southern Lehigh.
Bishop McDevitt will also kick off at Mansion Park Stadium on Friday. At 7 p.m., the Crusaders will face Pine-Richland. In their first season in Class 5A, McDevitt won the District III championship by cruising past Exeter Township, 48-14. On Saturday, November 30th, the Harrisburg Cougars will head to Mansion Park for a 1 p.m. state semifinal match-up with Pittsburgh Central Catholic. Coach Cal Everett's team took down Wilson in the District III championship game, 42-14. The Vikings beat State College at Mansion Park on Friday night, 41-19, in the semis. In the other PIAA state semifinal game, Downingtown West will meet state perennial power St. Joseph's Prep.
