Special Olympic athletes hit the slopes for the 40th annual ski competition

The 40th annual ski competition welcomed athletes from Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry and northern York County.

LEWISBERRY, Pa. — Special Olympics Pennsylvania Area M athletes hit the slopes at Roundtop Mountain Resort on Tuesday.

The 40th annual ski competition welcomed athletes from Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry and northern York County.

They will be competing to represent the Mid-State Area at the statewide competition held at Seven Springs Ski Resort in Bedford County in February.

The day will start with an opening ceremony on the Fanny Hill slope. 

After the opening ceremonies, the athletes hit the slopes, starting at the “Modified” Slalom on upper and lower Fanny Hill and in the Discovery Area.

The day will close on the patio for an awards ceremony, food, beverages and live music.
