First day open to fans brings out autograph seekers at U.S. Women's Open

Some of the best moments of the week happen when fans and players can interact, mostly at the practice areas like the putting green and driving range.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — The doors are open for fans at Lancaster Country Club and thousands dropped by to watch the top women's golfers in the world during their practice rounds.

Some of the best moments of the week happen when fans and players can interact and that happens mostly at the practice areas, like the putting green and driving range.

J.P. and Reagan Miller are from West Lampeter Township in Lancaster County. They found a good spot near the putting green for Reagan to collect player signatures on her 2024 U.S. Women's Open flag.

"We’ve been planning it a little bit, maybe a couple of months," admitted Reagan who is in 9th grade. "We’ve known for a little bit and then we got my flag and we’ve just been out here.”

“We moved into Lancaster nine years ago when this happened before so we missed it," explained J.P. "We’ve been planning and thinking about it since then. [I] ook the week off and got her out of school and decided to come out here and be part of this and immerse ourselves in the tournament.”

Reagan used a low-pressure style that worked perfectly for her on day one of the practice rounds.

The players have one more day of practice on Wednesday before the competition rounds start on Thursday.
