YORK, Pa. — After a few days in the desert, it was a cold reception from the Keystone State with several inches of snow on the ground in Spring Garden Township on Tuesday.
"Waking up to all the snow this morning, we were like, oh, 'Can we maybe go back,'" laughed senior Maycee Collison.
For the third straight year, York College students in the Sports Management and Media program had the chance to apply to help out at one of the biggest sporting events on the planet.
"When we all found out together there was a lot of excitement," recalled senior Katie Martino. "I was kind of shocked, honestly. It's the Super Bowl and finding out that I get to go and be a part of that was just a crazy feeling. It turned out to be the best opportunity ever."
"The events leading up to it, preparing, going to trainings, meeting with our whole group, it just made it even more special and kind of brought the whole event together" added senior Brooke Cordisco.
Landing last Tuesday, the group of 18 was always on the go, helping out with everything from the NFL Fan Super Bowl Experience, breakfast banquets, and even pregame get-togethers.
"We got all our gear, our uniforms, and we jumped right into it," said Martino. "And from there on out, we had shifts every day from either 5 a.m. to 10 p.m."
"Every day mixes in with each other," said Cordisco. "You're like, 'Wait was it that day? Was it this day? What's tomorrow?' It honestly feels like one big day, but I think that's the beauty of it."
Six days in Las Vegas flew by as they met a lot of different faces from many different places.
"Just going through York College, you were always taught to network the best that you can and that was the main purpose and main thing that we were doing," said Collison. "We even got to meet some of our alumni there and we got to network with them as well and just get your foot in the door wherever you can. It always goes a long way, no matter what."
And if you're wondering if they saw a particular blonde celebrity who was in town for the game, the answer is yes.
"We saw Guy Fieri," recalled Cordisco.
"Billy Idol performed in there so it was pretty cool," added Collison.
Maybe they're not the blonde celebrity you were thinking about, but they're now part of a week of memories that these York College students will never forget.
