LANCASTER, Pa. — The Lancaster Stormers and York Revolution meet once again, this time in the Atlantic League Playoffs.
This is only the third meeting between the two teams ever in the playoffs, making the cross-town rivalry anticipation that much higher.
"It’s the first time in 12 years that Lancaster has met the Revs in the playoffs," said voice of the Stormers Dave Collins. "It seems with all the success that these two teams have had it would happen more often. They beat us in '11, we beat them in '12, now it's 2024 and well see who gets the 2 series to 1 jump."
The Revolution dominated the regular season series 15-3. That means nothing come postseason but it's a treat for supporters of both sides.
"Where else in pro baseball do you find two teams in the same league neighboring counties this close together?" asked the voice of the Revs Darrell Henry. "It really is a special thing."
Fans don't have to travel far to see their team play, still, it's always a big deal every time they get together.
"It beats going down south somewhere or up north," said Gary Klineburg. "So to be this close it really is a wonderful thing."
The Revs and Stormers will play a best-of-five series for the right to move on to the Atlantic League Championship. The schedule for each game can be found on the team's respective websites.
