Eagles' new extension with Landon Dickerson makes him the highest-paid guard in NFL history

The 6-6, 333-pound former second-round draft pick has started 46 games in the last three seasons in Philly, making a pair of Pro Bowls.

PHILADELPHIA — The 2024 NFL offseason doesn't officially begin until Wednesday, but the Philadelphia Eagles have made their first move during the two-day legal tampering period -- and it's a big one.

The Birds announced Monday that they've agreed to terms with guard Landon Dickerson for a four-year contract extension that makes him the highest-paid player at his position in NFL history.

The four-year extension has a base salary of $84 million and a max value of $87 million, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport. The contract includes a $50 million guarantee and a $20 million signing bonus, Rapoport said.

The total comes out to $21 million per year, making Dickerson the league's highest-paid guard.

The team announced the deal about an hour before Monday's unofficial start to the NFL offseason -- the so-called "legal tampering" period. The official start to the 2024 offseason is Wednesday.

Dickerson, 25, has spent his entire career in Philadelphia since being picked by the Eagles in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, using the 37th overall selection.

In three seasons, he has started 46 total games and made two Pro Bowls.

The 6-6, 333-pound right guard has been a fixture of the Eagles' starting lineup since taking over for Isaac Seumalo in the third week of the 2021 season.

Dickerson is a University of Alabama grad and a native of Hickory, North Carolina.
