PHILADELPHIA — After a busy day on Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles are off and running in Day Two of the NFL's legal tampering stage.
The team on Tuesday morning agreed to terms with free-agent offensive lineman Matt Hennessy, a former third-round draft choice of the Atlanta Falcons, according to Eagles reporter Zach Berman.
Hennessy, 26, missed the 2023 season with a knee injury suffered during training camp. Prior to that, he started 22 games in his first three years with Atlanta, mostly at center and right guard.
A three-year starter at Temple, Hennessy is a native of Nyack, NY. He's listed at 6-foot-4, 309 pounds. His older brother, Thomas, is the long snapper for the New York Jets.
Hennessy is the third free agent signing by the Birds this offseason. On Monday, the team announced it signed running back Saquon Barkley, defensive end Bryce Huff, and linebacker Zack Baun.
Philly also agreed to a contract extension with starting guard Landon Dickerson.
Terms of Hennessy's contract were not disclosed.
