OWINGS MILLS, Maryland — He handled both placekicking and punting duties at Penn State, and now, Jordan Stout is entering his third season as the Baltimore Ravens punter.
Stout is motivated to be one of the best in the NFL.
"I feel like I've learned that it it takes more than just coming out and playing," Stout explained.
"You have to prepare yourself, it is my job, it's an every hour of the day thing. At night before I go to bed, I'm thinking about punting, about my drop, about if it's high, low, what and how that makes a difference. We're just taking it to the next level, getting more body work, stretching more, doing more. This offseason, I went and I did speed work for the first time. And you know, I'm just kind of experimenting, and I'm trying to see what works best, and it's worked pretty well."
Stout talked to FOX43 after the Ravens first full workout at their practice facility in Owings Mills, Maryland.
His Sunday Sitdown interview for the Sunday Sports Frenzy discusses the first day of camp, how he is preparing himself differently as a third year player compared to his rookie year, the feedback he gets from Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh and how he's able to stay in touch with the Nittany Lions.
The Ravens start their preseason schedule at home versus the Eagles on Aug. 9.
