Super Bowl 2024 | Your ultimate guide to Sunday's action

The 49ers and Chiefs will officially kick off Super Bowl LVIII at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, but there's plenty to watch before the game starts.

YORK, Pa. — The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers square off Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in Super Bowl LVIII, but there's plenty of build-up to the big game. 

If you're planning to start your Super Bowl pre-game party when CBS begins its coverage of the event, you'd better plan for an all-day affair. 

The network's official pre-game activities are scheduled to began at 11:30 a.m., and coverage is expected to last until right around 10 p.m. when the post-game show concludes.

Here's a schedule of all the action and how you can watch.

Super Bowl LVIII

Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers

Kickoff Time: 6:30 p.m. from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

How to Watch: The game will be covered by CBS and Nickelodeon and is available for streaming on Paramount+

Pre-Game Coverage Schedule (CBS, Nickelodeon, Paramount+)

11:30 a.m.: NFL Slime Time on Nickelodeon: Nate Burleson and Young Dylan kick off the pre-game festivities with NFL highlights, interviews, game picks, and plenty of slime, according to CBS.

Noon: The Road to the Super Bowl: The one-hour special is NFL Films' annual look back at the sights and sounds from the 2023 season, featuring the best of nearly 125 players and coaches who were wired for sound. The Road to the Super Bowl focuses on the "most exciting moments and the best teams on the journey to Las Vegas," according to CBS. The Road to the Super Bowl first debuted on NFL Films in 1969.

1 p.m.: You Are Looking Live! The Show That Changed Sports Television Forever: an original special about the story of The NFL Today – the groundbreaking studio show that altered the landscape of sports TV. Featuring interviews with the only surviving original cast members Brent Musburger and Jayne Kennedy, as well as current TV personalities, the show reflects on NFL Today's historic half-century of NFL studio coverage.

2 p.m.: The NFL Today: Four hours of pre-game coverage begins with a panel including host James Brown, former Giants QB Phil Simms, former Steelers coach Bill Cowher, former wideout Nate Burleson, former Bengals QB Boomer Esiason, and ex-Texas star JJ Watt.  Jonathan Jones, Ian Eagle, Charles Davis, Matt Ryan, and Jason McCourty will also contribute commentary, along with Kyle Brandt and other guests. 

(Also at 2 p.m. on Animal Planet): Puppy Bowl XX: If you need some time away from all the chalk talk, you can switch over to Animal Planet to find out whether Team Ruff or Team Fluff will win the "Lombarky" trophy.

6 p.m.: The Super Bowl on CBS Kickoff Show: Rounding out the pregame coverage from CBS, The Kickoff Show features the singing of "The Star-Spangled Banner," "Lift Every Voice and Sing," and "America the Beautiful" as well as the coin toss, team introductions, and other pre-game activities.

6:30 p.m.: Super Bowl LVIII: The Chiefs and 49ers finally get down to business. Jim Nantz and Tony Romo will call the game, with reporters Tracy Wolfson, Evan Washburn and Jay Feely and Rules Analyst Gene Steratore. 

Armando Quintero and Benny Ricardo call the Network's SAP coverage in Spanish.

After the Game: The NFL Today Post-Game Show will feature a recap of the action from James Brown and the rest of the panel, along with the presentation of the Lombardi Trophy to the winning team by Jim Nantz and post-game interviews with the game's key figures.
