Washington Commanders Kendall Fuller says he will play against New York Giants after knee injury

WASHINGTON — Washington Commanders Cornerback Kendall Fuller has missed a couple of days of practice this week with a bum knee. But he says he will be out there Sunday when the team goes up against division rivals, the New York Giants.

From a local high school in Maryland, to Virginia Tech, to the Washington Commanders, Kendall Fuller is homegrown.

Born in Baltimore, Fuller is currently in his eighth season in the NFL. He was picked by Washington in the third round in 2016 after getting noticed while playing during high school at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Olney Maryland.

He shared a high school roster with Blake Countess and Stefon Diggs, who also both made the NFL.

“Yeah, we love it, man," Fuller said. "I think the biggest thing for us was just like, that amount, the amount of work that we all put in together, we always push each other, we challenge each other."

The cornerback is one of the youngest of four Fuller men to make it to the NFL, but he's the only one to win a Super Bowl, after he spent two seasons in Kansas City. However, he doesn't show the ring to his siblings just yet.

"No not yet, once I finish playing a little bit more," he joked. "Nah, right now you’re working to get another one."

During his time away from the game, Fuller has been labeled a "golf nut," with his best score being an 84.

"I just love it," he said. "You always can get better. No matter how long you play the game. There's always improvement to be made. You don't know who you're going to meet. Yeah, so it's an amazing sport and amazing game."
