PHILADELPHIA — Sneaker-heads, if you were not able to buy a pair of the new Philly-themed Nike Dunk Lows in person, don't worry- they will be available to purchase online soon!
Designed in collaboration with Philadelphia sneaker boutiques Lapstone & Hammer and Creme 321, the shoes were released and sold exclusively in stores on May 30, 2024.
However, starting Tuesday, June 18, the kicks will be available via the Nike SNKRS app for $135.
The Phillies, with the help of the Phanatic, helped introduce and promote the show in a social media post on May 22, 2024.
In a Nike launch statement, the company said they designed the Dunk to embody Philadelphia. "It brings a mix of textures and colors, representing the gritty, hardworking ethos and aesthetic of the city."
Some of the features include coordinates on the laces, the word "PHILLY" on the heel, and insoles that show the neighborhood geography.
From Lapstone and Hammer Nike Dunk Low "Philly" shoe description page, the sportswear company explains how the idea started a year ago.
"Nike reached out and said they wanted to design a Dunk inspired by Philadelphia, a real 'For Philly, By Philly' concept that would deliver something beyond just the Liberty Bell and cheesesteak iconography."
