One dead, eight injured in multi-vehicle crash on Route 30

According to the West Manchester Township Police Department, thirteen cars were involved in the crash.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — A multi-vehicle crash on Route 30 in York killed one and injured at least eight people.

The crash occurred around 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Route 30 and Kenneth Road on Tuesday, April 16, according to York County 911 Dispatch.

A box truck hit several vehicles at the intersection before striking a black 2008 Toyota Yaris, the York County Coroner's Office said. The driver was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, and the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The Coroner's Office says it is working to identify next of kin for both people in the Yaris. The deceased man's autopsy results will be released once family is notified of his death.

According to the West Manchester Township Police Department, thirteen cars were involved in the crash. At the scene, officers found multiple people trapped with varying injuries.

A Reliance Transportation Van carrying Central York School District students was involved in the crash, but no students were injured. 

Multiple people were transported to York Hospital for treatment, according to police.
