21-year-old man dies after motorcycle crash in York County

A helicopter has been dispatched to transport an unknown number of patients to a hospital following a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — The York County coroner has been dispatched to the scene of a serious motorcycle accident on Interstate 83. 

York County emergency dispatch confirmed that Pennsylvania State Police responded to a call for a two vehicle crash, involving a motorcycle, Sunday morning at 11:22 a.m. 

The accident occurred near the Fishing Creek exit on Northbound I-83. 

The operator of the motorcycle, a 21-year-old man whose identity has not yet been released by authorities, was pronounced dead at the scene by the York County Coroner's Office, who determined he died by multiple blunt force trauma.

A helicopter transported a passenger to a hospital for treatment of their injuries, but details of the patient's identity and condition were not immediately available.

The cause of the accident is not known at this time. FOX43 has a crew on scene and will provide updates as they become available.
