1 dies at hospital after crash on Route 30 in Lancaster County

Both drivers and a passenger were seriously injured in the crash, according to State Police. One of the drivers later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — A crash involving two vehicles closed all lanes of a section of Lincoln Highway in Lancaster County on Wednesday morning, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Officials say the crash occurred around 3:40 a.m. on Nov. 1 in the 5500 block of Route 30 in Salisbury Township. All lanes of the highway were closed in the area of the crash until around 9 a.m.

According to police, their investigation determined that a Hyundai SUV was stopped at a posted stop sign at the intersection of Hoffmier Rd and Lincoln Highway when it pulled out into the path of a Chevrolet SUV traveling west on Lincoln Highway.

The driver of the Hyundai, 58-year-old Kimberly Halota, was trapped in her vehicle and had to be extracted. She later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

The other driver suffered suspected broken legs and their passenger also had suspected minor injuries, State Police said. They were both taken to the hospital.

Troopers are investigating the incident.
