DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. — Update, March 22: After a search for next of kin, which ultimately proved unsuccessful, the Dauphin County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in Reed Township in northern Dauphin County on March 14.
The decedent is Michael Csernik, 62, who was reportedly homeless at the time of his passing.
His driver’s license shows his home address was in Jacksonville, Florida. Both his parents are deceased.
The Coroner’s autopsy revealed the victim’s cause of death to be multiple traumatic injuries. The manner of death is deemed to be accidental.

A pedestrian was hit and killed on a Dauphin County roadway early this morning, according to Pennsylvania State police.
All lanes of Route 147 (South River Road) were closed in both directions between Exit: US 22 West/US 322 West and Mountain Road for several hours after the crash occurred at 5:20 a.m., according to 511PA.com. The road reopened about three hours later, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Traffic cameras showed a medical helicopter on the road. PSP says the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Dauphin County Coroner's Office, the victim was a 62-year-old man who was believed to be homeless.
An autopsy was performed yesterday, with the cause of death determined to be multiple traumatic injuries. The manner of death was deemed accidental.
The coroner's office has worked to locate the victim's next-of-kin, which has so far been unsuccessful. Pennsylvania State Police are searching for relatives as well.
