PERRY COUNTY, Pa. — A fatal crash closed a Perry County highway for several hours, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).

Route 11 was shut down in Buffalo Township due to the deadly crash, a PennDOT spokesperson said. The road was closed between Routes 322 and 34. Around 4 p.m., all lanes were reopened.

The crash occurred just before 10:30 a.m. and involved a tractor-trailer and minivan, officials said. First responders found fire and at least one person trapped in the vehicles.

Pennsylvania State Police say someone in the minivan was killed as a result of the crash, but their identity has not yet been released.
