Road reopened, caution still urged: Camp Hill crews respond to transformer fire, power outage

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Update, March 21: According to the Camp Hill Police Department, Cumberland Boulevard has been reopened. However, drivers are being asked to still exercise caution as crews continue their work.

Previously: Drivers in Camp Hill have been asked to avoid a specific road following a transformer fire and power outage.

According to the Camp Hill Police Department, on Wednesday, March 20 officers with the police department and Camp Hill Fire Department received multiple 911 calls regarding a transformer fire and subsequent power outage in the area of Cumberland Boulevard near Seibert Park. 

PPL and emergency services are at the scene and, as a result, the southbound lanes of Cumberland Boulevard will be closed for several hours. 

Camp Hill police are advising drivers to avoid the area, if possible.
