FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. — A portion of Interstate 81 in Franklin County was closed this morning due to a crash involving three tractor trailers, according to Franklin County 911 Dispatch.

All northbound and southbound lanes of I-81 between Exit 5: Greencastle - Waynesboro and Exit 10: PA 914 Marion were closed for a few hours, according to 511PA.com. They have since reopened.

Dispatch says the crash happened around 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 7 near mile marker 7. No injuries or spills were reported.

One tractor trailer jackknifed in the northbound lanes, according to a PennDOT spokesperson. In the southbound lanes, two other tractor trailers were involved in a crash. One of them overturned, splitting its trailer. PennDOT says one of the tractor trailers was carrying Vicks products such as VapoRub and humidifiers.

Pennsylvania State Police and the Greencastle Police Department are investigating. PennDOT says investigators are unsure at this moment what caused the crashes.
