HARRISBURG, Pa. — Editor's note: The attached video was from a Nov. 2 broadcast.
On Sunday, PennDOT announced the reopening of the Interstate 83 southbound bridge (John Harris Memorial Bridge).
The southbound lanes of I-83 were closed on Friday night at the Eisenhower Interchange so multiple repairs could be made to the bridge.
Some of the work included expansion joint repairs, concrete deck repairs, and seal replacements.
The bridge was originally planned to be closed until the morning of Monday, Dec. 18 but the repairs were finished ahead of schedule.
The detour has been lifted.
