Wellsville Borough to get new stop sign configuration

PennDOT announced today that a new stop sign configuration at the intersection of Carlisle Road and York Street in Wellsville Borough will go into effect on Dec. 4.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — A new stop sign configuration is coming soon to a borough in York County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.

The change at the intersection of Carlisle Road (Route 74) and York Street (Route 4012) in Wellsville Borough will go into effect on Monday, Dec. 4.

This new stop condition on Carlisle Road will be marked by a Stop Ahead sign with a flashing amber light as well as a flashing red light on the new stop sign. The amber light will remain in place for 30 days and the red light will remain in place for 60 days, after which time the flashing lights will be removed. 

In addition, there will be a sign alerting motorists in the southbound direction of the new stop condition on Carlisle Road.
