CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a crash that left one person dead Saturday night.

According to police, the crash, which occurred at mile marker 62.6 on I-81 South in East Pennsboro Township, was caused by two vehicles traveling at high speeds and passing other motorists.

The first vehicle, a Honda Civic, lost control when they attempted to change lanes from the left across the middle and into the right lane. Once in the right lane, the second vehicle, a Hyundai Sonata, struck the Civic on the passenger side rear, due to still driving at a high speed.

The Civic reportedly spun 90 degrees and began to overturn. It continued an uncontrolled slide until striking a tree in the median when the driver was ejected; this caused the Civic to burst into flames.

The ejected driver, Muhammad Ali, 19, of Harrisburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sonata's driver sustained minor injuries.

I-81 Southbound was closed at mile marker 65 until 3:35 a.m.
