YORK, Pa. — rabbittransit today announced that it will increase the frequency of pickups on one of its fixed routes.

Buses on route 1W, which connects downtown York to the West Manchester Town Center via Carlisle Road, will pick up riders at the York Transfer Center approximately every 15 minutes instead of every 30 during peak periods on weekdays.

The increased frequency begins on Sunday, Oct. 13. These additional trips will travel between Downtown York Transfer Center and West Manchester Town Center directly via Carlisle Road, rabbittransit said.

Last fall, rabbittransit similarly increased service frequency to its fixed route 1E, which provides regular service between downtown York and the York Mall via East Market Street, to what officials say was "considerable success." Average weekday ridership on route 1E has increased in 2024, and it has strongly contributed to an 11% increase in ridership system-wide, the company said.
