LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — All lanes of Route 222 south are closed after a multi-vehicle crash.
The road is closed between the exits for PA 272/Oregon Pike and US 30 West/PA 283 West.
First responders were called to the scene just after 2 p.m. for a crash involving two commercial vehicles and one sport-utility vehicle.
Police say the driver of one of the commercial vehicles and the driver of the SUV were trapped inside their vehicles.
Crews worked to free both drivers.
Police say both were successfully freed from their vehicles and taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The road is expected to remain closed for a few hours as the investigation and cleanup continue.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
