HARFORD COUNTY, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a deadly bus crash in Harford County, Maryland.
According to a press release, Maryland State Police from JFK Memorial Highway Barrack were called to the scene of a bus crash on Interstate 95 in Harford County around 6 a.m. Sunday morning.
The bus was traveling north when the driver lost control and hit a guardrail, State Police say. The reason why the driver lost control is not known at this time.
One passenger was pronounced dead on the scene and several of the other 23 passengers were transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with injuries.
All northbound lanes of I-95 at mile marker 77 were closed until around 1 p.m.
Along with the Maryland State Police, officers from the Harford County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police responded to the crash. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation.
