Cumberland Valley Coffee and Chocolate Trail stirs up support for local businesses | Travel Smart

The Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau organized event returns and features 15 participating locations specializing in locally crafted coffee and chocolate.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. — If you love the taste of chocolate and a nice, hot brew, we've got great news for you: the Cumberland Valley Coffee and Chocolate Trail is back for a second year!

Organized by the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau, the event features 15 participating locations specializing in locally crafted coffee and chocolate across Cumberland County.

"We have a lot of local chocolatiers that we want to highlight, and we also have a lot of coffee makers that make their own coffee so unique," said Aaron Jumper, the public relations manager for the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau. "So it’s a perfect time of year to highlight the places that love chocolate and coffee."

Participating in the Cumberland Valley Coffee and Chocolate Trail is free, and users can earn prizes and receive discounts along the way.

Prizes include a keychain, sticker, coffee scoop and stone car coaster.

Trail followers can sign up for free here and begin checking into places immediately by entering the four-digit pin at each location into the mobile passport.

Participating locations include Mummert Chocolates, Jane’s Art of Pie Cafe, Denim Coffee Carlisle, Denim Coffee Mechanicsburg, Macris Chocolates Lemoyne, Macris Chocolates Mechanicsburg, Oxford Hall Celtic Shop, Exquisite Chocolates, Brew Crumberland’s Best, Dalicia Ristorante and Bakery, Helena’s Café and Creperie, The Cracked Pot Coffee Shop, Down to Earth Café, Crazy Glazed and Cornerstone Coffeehouse.

It's the Denim Coffee Company's second time participating in the trail which helps stir-up local support.

"We wouldn’t be here and we would not be as successful as we are if it wasn’t for the community that has shown us support," said Kyle Matthews, director of partnerships for the Denim Coffee Company. "Because of them, we’re able to follow through on our mission of making better coffee."

Enjoyment of their coffee by the local community is something they are never tired of seeing.

"If [we're] able to add to that and elevate their day, bring in those moments of beauty through that incredible cup of coffee, it doesn’t get much better than that," said Matthews.

It's a trail that ultimately gets people to experience all the great things Cumberland County has to offer.

"We love for people to experience the locality and continue to experience what’s in the valley beyond the coffee and the chocolate," said Jumper. "We want to make sure that you’re having a great time."

The Cumberland Valley Coffee and Chocolate Trail runs from Feb. 1 through May 12.

The Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau also manages the Cumberland Valley Beer Trail (currently still running - new passport and prizes launching in April 2024) and the Cumberland Valley Ice Cream Trail (returning this summer).
