LITITZ, Pa. — Lancaster Airport announced it will begin offering non-stop flights to Orlando later this year through a new partnership with Breeze Airways, the United States' only "Nice Low Cost Carrier," or NLCC.

The first flight from Lancaster Airport to Orlando will take off on Oct. 8, with twice-weekly service on Thursdays and Sundays to follow, the airport said. Tickets are available starting today.

"With travel only expected to rise, Lancaster Airport must continue to work to meet the community's growing demands," said Ed Foster, executive director of the Lancaster Airport. "This partnership with Breeze opens new, exciting opportunities for our region to allow family, friends and businesses to connect with non-stop services to one of the most popular destinations that local Lancaster travelers go to daily."

"We're thrilled to announce the addition of Lancaster to our expanding network as we continue to add great destinations nationwide," said Tom Doxey, president of Breeze Airways. "With Breeze's added convenience and affordability, our business model continues to see success in cities across the country."

Breeze Airways has been recognized as one of the Top Five Best U.S. Airlines by Travel + Leisure readers for two consecutive years. The business offers guests both bundled and ala carte options known as "Nice," "Nicer," and, on flights operated with the Airbus A220-300, "Nicest."

The "Nicer" option includes a checked bag, a carry-on bag, free in-flight Wi-fi and a premium economy seat in the aircraft's "extra legroom" section. The "Nicest" option includes two checked bags, priority boarding, and Breeze Ascent -- the carrier's in-flight experience including 2x2 recliner seating, free in-flight Wi-Fi, and complementary snacks and beverages, including alcohol.

The flights from Lancaster to Orlando will be served by the airline's Airbus A220-300, the Lancaster Airport said.

"Breeze's planned service will provide another useful way that folks can get to Lancaster for whatever purpose they are traveling here -- tourism, business, or visiting relatives," said Edward Harris, president and CEO of Discover Lancaster, the official marketing organization for Lancaster County. "Any positive effect such travel can have on local tourism would certainly be economically beneficial to our area."
