CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. — Starting this weekend, you just might be able to see the best spring blooms of them all at Longwood Gardens in Chester County.
"Spring is amazing here at Longwood Gardens," said Jourdan Cole, public relations manager at Longwood Gardens. "It is really just a moment to step back, enjoy, take your time and enjoy nature for a day."
The Garden’s Spring Bloom season begins on Saturday and runs through April 29. From orchids to tulips and much more over its more than 1,100 acres of space, there’ll be something new and beautiful every time you stop by.
"Every week is different here during the springtime, and it is beautiful; we have blooms popping up everywhere," said Cole.
Whether you’re an avid gardener or just want an escape into nature, Longwood is the perfect place for your next getaway.
"Even if you are not a gardener, I think most people appreciate getting out seeing all the flowers popping up, all the beautiful colors," said Cole. "Longwood gardens is a place for everyone to come to appreciate nature in your own way. It’s a getaway without having to get away."
It's a way for visitors to officially leave the cold and dull winter season behind.
"Spring I think just warms people’s hearts [at Longwood Gardens] and it add[s] vibrancy to your life," said Cole. “I think a lot of people go from winter where it’s dark and grey and has more muted tones in the landscape to all of a sudden you have these beautiful [colors]."
It's a vibrant spring experience like nothing else.
"It’s like Christmas morning," said Aly McCeue, a frequent visitor of Longwood Gardens from Maryland. "The sense of wonder and what they can achieve here in plant husbandry and flowers is just amazing."
Whether it’s your first time or tenth time, it's place you’ll leave feeling inspired every time.
"We want people to come to Longwood Gardens and leave feeling inspired," said Cole. "We just want people to take away that they’ve had an excellent time, appreciating beauty, feeling inspired by your surroundings here."
